Whitman scholarships, awarded by the college (one-half each semester), are gifts which are credited to the recipient’s tuition, room, and board charges. A scholarship is not a loan, and its acceptance places the recipient under no more obligation than that of remaining in good academic standing and making satisfactory progress toward graduation.
