General Chemistry Lab I

Course Description
Laboratory exercises in physical and chemical properties of matter, with an introduction to both qualitative and quantitative methods of analysis in addition to scientific communication practices. Topics include gravimetric and volumetric analysis, molecular structure, chemical synthesis, reaction stoichiometry, properties and reactions of elements and compounds, gas laws, and properties of solutions. One three-hour laboratory per week. Corequisite: Chemistry 125. Distribution areas: Quantitative Analysis, Scientific Inquiry. Lab fee: maximum $35.
