Musicology: Middle Ages through Baroque

Course Description

This course provides a survey of Western music history from the Medieval through the Baroque periods, introducing significant individuals, movements, and genres of this timespan. From this foundation, we will study this music within cultural and historical context, considering the ways in which societal forces influence its development. Prerequisite: Music 126.
